Dublin City and Temple Bar: Our Trip Away

The lovely Paramount Hotel
Getting ready for Kodaline!

Hello everyone!

As some of you may know from our previous posts we took a trip up to Dublin the week before last to see the band Kodaline in the Olympia Theater. They were AMAZING and tickets were only €20!! Such a bargain...the cheapest part of it!

Along with this we did a little (a lot of) shopping in Dublin's city center, Jervis Shopping Centre, Dundrum Town Centre and checked out Dublin's infamous Temple Bar area which was within walking distance of the hotel we stayed in. We were also only a 5-10 minute walk from the city center and Grafton Street.

The Paramount Hotel was affordable, in the perfect location as it was quiet but just a stones throw from the busier streets and the hospitality was second to none. Plus unlike most hotels what you see online is what you get!

We had a wonderful time. The people were lovely everywhere we went. The staff in the pubs, restaurants and shops were really friendly and the night life was pretty good too. The food was so good and there is definitely a restaurant, bar or club to suit anyone and everyone in Dublin!

There was a great buzz in the city and it began to feel a lot like Christmas with all of the beautiful lights and lighting features around Grafton Street and in the shopping centers. Unfortunately we didn't get any night time photos with the lights turned on as it didn't seem like a good idea to bring such a large (and costly) camera out with us - boo!

Lucky for us the weather stayed rain free over those few days but it was damn coooold all the same! Dublin is a beautiful city with many sights and features; it is easy to see why it draws hundreds of thousands of tourists and visitors every year. Here are some photos we took during our stay in the big shmoke featuring the lovely hotel and other typical 'city-style' pictures.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Note: Temple Bar is cobbled (like Coronation Street). Try not to wear heels if you value the safety of your ankles!

Also we discovered that Bewleys coffee is DELICIOUS!

And finally there is a strong probability of being pooped on by the pigeons at Heuston Station Dublin...so watch out!
