Wednesday Wears // Chloe Sevigny

Ever the non-conventional fashionista, Chloe Sevigny is not one to shy away from taking a risk in the style stakes and for that I applaud her.

Here, she steals the show and nails the '70s trend with aplomb at the premiere of her new Netflix show Bloodline. She was made for this laid back, textured, tousled look and appears totally comfortable as she smiles easily for the cameras. A woman confident in her own skin.

I am excited to check this Netflix original out as it sounds intriguing! I am also a fan of Chloe's acting - have you ever seen Hit& Miss? If not check it out. Random but totally thought provoking and captivating. Phew!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Spring or still Winter, who knows?

Zara // Coat & Knit
Dorothy Perkins // Leggings & Boots
Gifted // Nikki Lissoni Necklace
Michael Kors // Tote
Vintage // Ring
Vogue // Glasses

So it is technically Spring but snowing outside. Yet the sun has said hello a few times today too. There you go. Welcome to Irish weather. Standard.

In light of this changeable cray cray weather I'm trying to NOT wear black all of the time, pretty hard. This cozy Zara knit is perfect to brighten up said dull looking outfit. It is baby pink - perf Spring attire yet super warm for that extreme winter chill (at 1 degree now if anybodies interested).

Sorry for the crappy lighting and not so great camera work. My photographers skills are improving...slowly but surely. Hope everyone had a good weekend and feel good for the new month ahead.

Hello there, March!

Weekend Post // Avene Skincare

Avene. A firm skincare favourite of mine for quite some time now. As someone who has quite red prone sensitive skin neutral fragrance free cosmetics are the way to go. For me, Avene delivers.

I use their cleanser, toner and thermal spring water on a daily basis and find they leave my skin smooth, soft and hydrated. I have found in the past that certain toners left my skin dry and tight and the cleansers (especially when double cleansing) left my skin feeling stripped. I believe the thermal spring water infused in the Avene products is key to avoiding this factor. Avene is also reasonably priced with each product shown above costing between €12.99-14.99. Spring, summer, autumn or winter this range for me is on point.

In future I plan on trying out their moisturisers and cold creams. What are your skincare favs? I'd love to know especially if you have similar skin problems!

Happy Sunday/Funday!

Wednesday Wears // Dakota Johnson

In light of the recent Fifty Shades whirlwind promotional trail, I have been keeping track of Dakota Johnsons' fashion choices with interest. Now, I have to say she has had both hits and misses...yup I'm talking about that fuzzy white black button jumper. I don't know either. Bad choice.

Having said that I have to give her credit as she has taken risks and none more so than the world premier in London of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. That dress. That beautiful angelic yet risque Saint Laurent dress. A conundrum in itself huh? Not for everyone of course but a bold choice. Floor length with a very daring V-neck (or more V-waist considering how low it goes) with gorgeous silver chain detail. A deep berry lip and biker jacket worn almost as an afterthought set this look off beautifully.

It was also so refreshing to see another actress embrace her pale skin and look flawless in the process a la Julianne Moore and Emma Stone. Orange may finally be on the way out. Dakota Johnson. A definite one to watch in the future as her star continues to rise.

Do you like this look? Happy 'Hump' Day!

New Kicks and Fitness Picks!

Reebok // Pattern Tights here!
Pure Simple Run // Black&Neon Tights here!
Dunnes Stores // Funnel-Neck Base Layer here!
Nike // Trainers here!

I picked up some new fitness clothing and footwear recently and couldn't be happier with them. Exercise is a staple in my life and I see these new purchases as a little gift to myself, my health and my motivation. It is important to feel comfortable AND confident in your exercise gear because lets face it your gonna be looking hot and sweaty....and not in a goo way!

As per usual I picked up a serious bargain in the black/neon tights from JD Sports for a cool €15.20 (Reduced initially with another 20% reduction, score) with zip feature, perfect for keys/phone or any other paraphernalia. The Nikes *squeeee* were reduced to €70, major love for these goin' on over here! The patterened tights are curtosy of Reebok and the white body was a sweet €20 from Dunnes Stores. I am LOVING white everything at the moment....OK for the last 6 months....so the lurve was bound to transfer to my fitness gear!

Hope every one is having a happy 'Hump' day!

Weekend Post // Hello There February

Purple Orchid // Marks & Spencers (Similar here!)

February. Where the days become less dark, that little bit longer and there is just that hint of Spring in the cold cold air. This is one of my favourite months as you can take inspiration as nature wakes up and the first signs of growth are about to occur. It can sustain positivity and motivation first introduced in January and promises that Summer is not that far away after all.

I love how this year the 1st day of February was a Sunday. This weekend saw us saying goodbye to January and hello to February, a lovely way to begin and end a weekend and start a fresh week/month!

So on that note, I hope everyone is having a good weekend. More importantly I hope that you feel like your goals and resolutions are that much closer.

Have a good week everyone!

Catrice Cosmetics Addict

Catrice // Primark/Penneys

Like many I have a wee grá (Irish for love) for Catrice nail polishes from Primark/Penneys. The collection is super cheap (retailing under €3 a pop), relatively long wearing with a wide variation of colours to suit everyone. They also make a habit of updating their nail polish range seasonally with new colour additions. A good and bad thing!

As you can tell from above I have a small (yeah right) collection of my own in the works that is growing monthly. Worryingly so, but then again its good to let your nails do the talking sometimes!

Hope everyone's having a good week! The weekend is almost upon us again, hurrah!

An Ode to the January Sales...

Ankle Boots // Office

Never a one to pass up a good sale, I took to Office last week in the hopes of finding nude heels. I walked out of the shop with a new purchase, no nude heels in sight of course. In my defense (how I start sentences concerning most retail purchases worryingly enough) these ankle boots are AMAZING. They are comfortable, stylish and have a wicked grip thanks to the rubber sole. A great combo.

They were a STEAL and I stress this as not only were they down from €104 to €35, but when I skipped up to the till they had a FURTHER 20% reduction on all sale items that day. These babies came in at a cool €28 *Hallelujah*

Hope ye like this post!

Happy 'Hump' Day

It's love, that is all I can say! I am a sucker for gold/bronze accessories and this is riiiiight up my street. This is a seasonal all-rounder and I cannot wait to start styling it!

Begin again...

Hello everyone and a very Happy New Year!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas/Holidays wherever you are. I certainly did. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by my crazy friends and even crazier family and began a new year with a better attitude than last year, thankfully.

This time last year I was unemployed and feeling a little hopeless, lost. The generic mantra 'New Year, New You!' was definitely NOT appealing to me and frankly p!ssed me off a little.

January can be quite a difficult time of year as it is, especially when trying to have a positive attitude is the last thing on your mind. I find this month can resemble a pan on the boil, it heats up slowly as you set your 'resolutions' in motion, but can quickly boil over so very easily leaving you deflated. People TRY new things (fitness/diet/health being primary areas) and then fade out as the month goes by making them feel like failures. Not good.

Balance is key. Balance is, personally, always key for me. I think that if you want to change or achieve your personal goals you must prepare and consciously make a decision to keep on track. Set yourself achievable targets and follow from there. You must allow for failures, set backs and just days when striving forward is the last thing you want to do. Keep going regardless, don't sweat the small stuff. They're only small stuff! Stay positive, surround yourself with positive people who enhance your life and vica versa. You must have give/take. Take the rough with the smooth. Don't over-think. Be perceptive. Be kind. Be balanced.

So, as the year begins I have three simple personal goals which you may find inciteful:

1. Say 'Yes' more. Yup purdy easy. Put yourself out there and try new things. Surprise yourself!

2. Say 'No' more. Just say no. Screw it! You are your own person, you have a choice. Say no.

3. 'Be Positive'. Look forward with good intentions. Think positive. Be the you YOU want to be. Radiate positivity. Smile :)

Happy New Year!
